Ten Books On My Spring TBR – Procrastination + Lots of Cheating!

 Spring TBR

Ten Books on my Spring TBR!

I know, I know, I disappeared again… To be honest I just lost track of time and thought it had only been a few days since I last posted… Whoops!

Anyways, I’m back, and today I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday, hosted over at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is ‘Top Ten Books On My Spring TBR’.*

Now seeing as my TBR this spring is mostly dependant on which of my holds come in from the library this post is going to be a little bit difficult, but I have a LOT of books I want to/should read, so I think I’ll have no problem finding ten books that aren’t reliant on the library.

Also, wow, I just looked at my winter TBR post, and I actually managed to read eight of them! Eight out of ten is way more than I thought I’d read, so I am pleased.

*You know, in case you couldn’t guess that from the title.

Ash and QuillThe Last Olympian1 – Ash and Quill

by Rachel Caine

You know how I said no library books? Well I lied. But this one is actually in, and if all goes to plan I’ll have it in my hands by later today. And maybe be finished it by tonight, because it’s going to be very hard to pry this from my hands.
Anyways, this is the third book in the Great Library series, and the first two were so good, and I need to know what happens to my smol precious darlings! (And by smol precious darlings I mean Wolfe and Santi… Not, you know, any of the main characters…)

(Edit: I’ve got it, but I’ve also got Six of Crows, so this probably won’t be finished by tonight… 😜)

2 – The Last Olympian

by Rick Riordan

I. Will. Finish. This. Series. I will.
I’ve been trying for years, and this spring will maybe be the time I finally do it.
It’s weird, because I’m actually thoroughly enjoying the series. But for some reason I’m incapable of finishing it. I got the whole series for Christmas two or three years ago (I think three), read the first three books, got mad about a character death so procrastinated reading on, and then forgot all about it. Then late last summer I decided I wanted to finish the series. I didn’t remember anything that happened, so I just started over from the beginning. It’s taken me six months to get this far in the series, and I. am. going. to. finish. it. Hopefully.

The Perks for Being a WallflowerThe Silver Spear3 – The Perks of Being a Wallflower

by Stephen Chbosky

Umm… I’m sort of cheating here as I’m sort of halfway through this. And have been since… er… September. But I am determined to finish it, and it’s such a short book. So I will read it. I just have a hundred, maybe a hundred and twenty pages left, so I could read it in one sitting if I set my mind to it. I’m just not motivated… ugh.

Also can that cover please not exist? Ew.

4 – The Silver Spear

by Clare C. Marshall

This is the sequel to The Violet Fox, which I read a couple months ago, and quite enjoyed. And I own this one too. So why haven’t I read it yet? I have absolutely no idea. Mostly I just keep forgetting it exists to tell the truth.

InsurgentThe Rose Society5 – Insurgent

by Veronica Roth

This was on my winter TBR as well… And could have been on my fall one… And I STILL haven’t read it. Because I just don’t really care, plus I think I got the end spoiled for me… Plus I’m bored out of my mind by it. Plus I hate dystopians. Umm… Remind me why am I reading this again?

6 – The Rose Society

by Marie Lu

I read the first book in this series a couple months ago, and really liked it. And then I found this one tucked away in a corner at a local library* and happily got it out. Then didn’t read it. I’d really like to know what happens, so I renewed it, and will hopefully be reading this sometime in the next couple weeks.

*And by tucked away in the corner I mean REALLY tucked away. I had to read blindly into a tiny nook and wiggle the book out, because curiosity got the best of my, and I just HAD to find out what books were hidden away behind the armchair.

The Silver ChairThe Fellowship of the Ring7 – The Silver Chair

by C.S. Lewis

I borrowed this from a friend WAY too long ago, and I really just need to read and give it back. It would probably take me less than a day. But I have NO motivation to pick it up, because honestly? I don’t think Narnia holds up to an older audience. It’s fun for a younger kid, or maybe if it has childhood nostalgia attached to it, but otherwise? It just really doesn’t hold up. I’m trying to work my way through the series, but I’m thinking I might just give up on it soon.

8 – The Fellowship of the Ring

Cheating again, because I’m already halfway through this one, but I read that half about a year ago… I’ll probably just pick up where I left off, because that first half took me quite some time, and I don’t really feel like doing that again. But I also only sort of remember what happened. So I’m procrastinating. But maybe this spring? Probably not to be honest, but I can pretend.

Six of CrowsObsidio9 – Six of Crows

by Leigh Bardugo

I’m super excited to start this one! And also a bit nervous, because it’s been SO hyped. I really hope it lives up to the hype, and I think it will… I’m just a tiny bit concerned it won’t, because SO MUCH HYPE. And also I didn’t love Shadow and Bone. But everyone says this one is better, sooo… Let’s hope so!
This will probably be my next read, because I just got this out from the library, and I’m super excited!

10 – Obsidio

by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

So you remember how I cheated with Ash and Quill? Well I’m cheating again, this time with one that’s NOT in. Oops. But I just finished Gemina a couple days ago, and I NEED OBSIDIO NOW!!! THAT CLIFFHANGER!!! I NEED!! And my library bought this one, and I’m the only person with a hold, so I’m pretty sure I’ll get it soon. Either that or I’ll cave and buy it like I did with Gemina… (And then my hold will come in while I’m reading it… like it did with Gemina)*

*I’m so responsible with my money 😂

Have you read any of these? What did you think? Which should I read next? (After Six of Crows of course!) Are any of these on your TBR?

This is so relatable! I’ve read all the Percy Jackson books except for the Last Olympian, and I really liked them, but I never feel like finishing it… And now I’ve forgotten so much from the previous books 🤦 And yessss, I loved Narnia as a kid, but it really doesn’t hold up when you’re older… I don’t know why. I think it’s the writing style. You’re close to finishing though!! The Silver Chair used to be one of my favorites. Several of these are in my TBR too… I loved Insurgent so so much though 😅

I just can’t motivate myself to pick it up… even though I’m sure I’ll enjoy it when I do. And yeah, forgetting what happened in a series sucks!

I don’t want to add too much to the Six of Crows hype train in case it lets you down, but… OHMYGODITSSOGOODILOVEITSOMUCH. I really, really hope that you like it. (But it’s okay if you don’t, of course. I know I sometimes feel ALL THE PRESSURE to love the really hyped books.)

No worries about that happening! I just finished Crooked Kingdom about ten minutes ago, and wow! It definitely lived up to the hype! I’ve been basically glued to those books for the past twenty-four hours… and OH MY GOODNESS I LOVED THEM!!!!!

OBSIDIO AHHHH *screams softly into the void* I need my copy to hurry up and arrive ajdfkalsd I just need to know what happens next?! And I also really love Perks of Being A Wallflower but agree the cover is basically the grossest thing. 😂 And after being super famous all these years, it’s still never gotten a good one?! I actually have the movie-tie-in-edition which usually I’m adamantly against, but for once it’s actually better.😂I also LOVE Ash and Quill (it hurts the feels though afjdksla) and Six of Crows. I hope you have fun with this epic TBR list. 😀

Yes! I need Obsidio RIGHT NOW! Every time I look at the first two I start complaining to my mum about how desperately I need it… I think she’s getting really sick of it 😂
