I picked up this book with fairly high expectations, and still it managed to be so much better than I expected.
It kept me hooked from the very first page, and putting it down can only be described as torture. I also found the characters were really rich, I rarely like the main character very much, but I loved Shahrzad, as well as the rest of the characters. Khalid was my favourite, as I thought his character was developed really well, but I also loved Tariq (now I just need to hope that my two favourites don’t kill each other…). I found all the characters were really well developed, and most of them were also very likeable.
The plot was also very exciting, in the prologue it gives you enough information about what happened that it catches your attention, but leaves it all very vague and confusing, and you don’t get the whole story until near the end.
The only thing that bugged me was the names, I couldn’t figure out how on earth I was supposed to pronounce them, and therefore I couldn’t remember them.
Over all, I LOVED this book, and would highly recommend it to anybody, it was just so good!
